Casos de Sucesso
NewSun Energy Group has taken another decisive step to consolidate its leadership in the subscription-based clean energy market. This Wednesday, 3 June 2026, the company officially opened a nationwide public call for proposals focused on contracting and leasing new distributed generation (DG) power plants.
The initiative aims to sustain the company's strong growth pace and supply its customer portfolio, which has been registering high demand for the 2026/2027 cycle. Backed by a solid investment plan, NewSun already manages more than 160 MWp of installed capacity and has accumulated R$1.8 billion in long-term contracts signed.
What is NewSun looking for in the market?
The tender is open to assets from the solar photovoltaic, hydroelectric and thermal (biogas or biomass) matrix. To join the brand's portfolio, projects must meet the following technical and regulatory criteria:
Rated Capacity: Minimum of 1 MWac per generating unit;
Asset Status: Plants already commissioned or with guaranteed grid connection within the next 6 months;
Regulatory Security: Projects must fall under the GD0 or GD1 regimes, ensuring full acquired benefit;
Coverage: Assets located across 18 Brazilian states, including São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Ceará, Rio Grande do Sul and Bahia.
Selected plants will be contracted under a secure Take-or-Pay regime, with a guaranteed long-term contract of at least ten years. All pre-selected projects will undergo a rigorous process of technical, legal and regulatory due diligence.
Timeline and Process Stages
The selection and contracting process will follow strict dates throughout the second half of 2026:
3 June 2026 to 30 June 2026: Deadline for submitting commercial proposals and initial documentation;
11 July 2026 to 30 July 2026: Detailed audit (Due Diligence) of the technical and legal aspects of pre-selected assets;
August 2026: Final phase of commercial negotiation and signing of lease agreements.
To register, applicants must present the company's legal qualification and the plant's technical data, including the signed grid access opinion, CUSD and CCER, as well as generation simulations (PVSyst or PVSol).
