CONASI Juiz de Fora: NewSun stands out for energy savings in residential developments
Casos de Sucesso
NewSun Energy Group took part in CONASI Juiz de Fora 2026, held on 17 October at the Trade Hotel JF in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais. The event brought together residential property managers, property management companies and other professionals in the residential property sector to discuss topics relating to financial management, legislation, technology and efficient property management. One of the highlights of the programme was the talk “What Should Property Managers Do to Save Energy in Residential Developments?”, delivered by Almir Ramos, NewSun’s Expansion Manager.
With around 200 visitors and approximately ten exhibitors, the event provided a space for sharing experiences and presenting solutions tailored to the needs of the local market. NewSun’s participation aimed to introduce residential property managers to alternatives that support cost control, sustainability and financial planning.
Subscription-based energy: savings without building work at the property
Electricity bills are among the recurring expenses that require property managers’ attention. In addition to consumption in communal areas, managers need to deal with tariff fluctuations and organise budgets to balance payments, maintenance and improvements to the development’s infrastructure.
In this context, subscription-based clean energy offers an alternative for residential developments seeking to reduce electricity costs without installing solar panels on site. The model works through energy credits generated at renewable energy facilities and used to offset part of the consumption shown on the bill, in accordance with the applicable rules and contractual terms.
In practice, this enables residential developments to access renewable energy without having to invest in building their own generation facilities. NewSun is responsible for operating the service, while the development continues to use the local electricity distribution network as normal.
The solution is particularly relevant for developments that lack suitable space for photovoltaic panels or prefer not to take on the costs and responsibilities of installing and maintaining the equipment. Before signing up, the consumption profile, the location of the electricity supply point and the eligibility criteria must be assessed to establish whether joining the scheme is feasible.
Greater control over costs and residential property planning
Juiz de Fora has a sizeable residential property market, with an estimated 3,000 residential developments in the municipality. These encompass properties with different structures and management needs, highlighting the importance of solutions that can be assessed in light of each development’s circumstances.
For property managers, pursuing energy efficiency means more than simply trying to pay less on the next bill. Reducing recurring expenses can help free up funds for other priorities, such as preventative maintenance, equipment modernisation and the upkeep of communal areas.
NewSun’s subscription-based energy service was developed to meet this demand. As well as enabling savings on electricity bills, the service aims to make energy expenditure more predictable, with terms linked to the green band under Brazil’s electricity tariff flag system. Results depend on the eligibility assessment, consumption profile and contractual terms.
Participation in CONASI Juiz de Fora reinforces NewSun’s commitment to engaging with residential property managers and property management companies across different regions, providing information about energy alternatives that combine savings, sustainability and operational convenience.
